Boy killed himSelf with his father’s Gun

An 18-year-old boy, Sanni Kehinde, has allegedly killed himself with a gun said to belong to his father at Ikare Akoko in Akoko North-East Local Government Area of Ondo State. The incident, which has generated a lot of controversy, occurred at a nearby farm settlement known as ‘Aba Ori Okuta’. The deceased’s family was said to have hurriedly buried his remains without informing the police of the incident, fuelling suspicion of foul play. According to a police source, five family members including a 17-year-old boy identified as Bolu have been arrested in connection with the incident. Bolu was said to have been with the deceased at the time and rushed home to report the incident to the family. None of the family members was ready to speak on the matter when our correspondent visited, saying only the police can comment on the matter. The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Wole Ogodo, confirmed the incident, saying that investigations have commenced to unravel the circumstance leading to the death, even as an autopsy report is being awaited. He said: “Immediately the incident happened, neither the family nor the neighbours reported the matter before the corpse was buried. That is why we made some arrests. “When the boy killed himself, the police was supposed to have been informed so that we will visit the crime scene. And if the boy would be buried, the order will come from the police.”
