INTERVIEW- Exclusive Chat With CEO Mayor’s Ville Ent By Edward Fortune

 

         In the world of entertainment just like football, we have key playersin the industry. The artist themselves (players) the coach (managers, PRs and ARs), spectators (OAPs, Djs and Vjs) and of cause the cheering fans! Darlyton E mayor, is one individual I would want to address as a coach. Having gone through the whole process of developing an grooming young and talented artist, he’s role is best described as a SCOUT..
       With a great an recommendable working profile, Mayor who also doubles as the CEO of Mayor’s Ville entertainment, is a young and determined Nigerian whose veins flows with nothing but passion for a greater Nigeria.
        He believes in making something out of nothing. Believes in exploiting your talents to the fullest with the little resource at your disposal. He was in the country for the yuletide season and I was opportune to have a chat with him for just 10 minutes….

E.F Little or nothing is really known. About you. A lil introduction please.

M.V: Am ‘Darlynton .E. Mayor” I hail from delta state, the southern part of Nigeria. Am CEO Mayor’s Ville Entertainment, CHAIRMAN ‘Revolutionized Mindz Konceptz’.

E.F:You have been one of those that believes in catching them young. What’s been the drive?

M.V: The drive has always been the zeal for a better society and Nigeria at large through talent management . I get hurt whenever I see a vibrant Nigerian teenagers or youth with so much talent wasting away their time all covering under the umbrella that no matter how hard they try its always results to nothing at the end. So what Mayors ville Entertainment has been doing over the years is basically taking these guys in (Out from the street) and grooming them so they can be useful to themselves and the society at large. And its been awesome so far.

E.F: So far, how would you describe the hustle?

M.V: The hustle has not been easy you know,but wetin man go do,we dey push am. Have Been in the industry for over 10 years, but you can say professionally 4 years and I bless God for where the hustle is today.
E.F: An assessment of the music industry, what’s your take on it?

M.V: The music industry as you and I know wasn’t like this 20 years ago or even 10 years ago ,lots of improvement has been made and lots of achievement has been recorded also. With the likes of the Living legend 2face idibia, Nneka, Asa, Femi kuti, Lagbaja and so many others representing us(Nigeria) globally we can say its been awesome.
E.F: Events or talent hunts. You have successfully brought to limelight?

M.V: Mayors Ville Entertainment has worked with several firms and brands, in 2007,2008 we were part of the NMVA (Nigerian Music Video Awards), also in 2008 held ‘The premier edition of Ekwuegbe Unity and peace Carnival’ in Enugu state alongside ‘Kings Entertainment’ which main purpose was to promote peace and unity amongst the youths in the region, In 2010 we were in partnership with ‘PMONKZ” as we supported her second edition of the ‘Rappers on stage concert’ in 2010 also we were one of the sponsors of. ‘Artiste Den’ a platform that hosted up&coming acts and encouraged them to do better and hold onto their dream.

E.F: What’s life behind the scene like?
Life behind the scene!!! Omo no be small things o! the fact remains I try as much as possible to be myself wherever I find myself and it has kept me going.

M.V: Having worked with couple of notable names in the industry, how would you describe the experience?
The experience has been awesome, working with the like of 2face idibia, blackface Naija, Marvelous Benjy, Obi Asika, Baba Leo, Cally Ikpe and many more its been wonderfully awesome. Got to learn a lot from these guys and at this point I will love to pay my homage to “Blackface Naija’, ‘Marvelous Benjy and ‘Nelson Brown’ for these men took me in as their own,believed in my dreams and aspirations and groomed me  into a finished product now  here I am today filled with thanks to God.

E.F: What’s in the pipeline?
M.V: Like I always say “I aint stopping till I go global”. Lots are coming from the stable of #MVE (Mayors Ville Ent) with God on our side.
