They seized the man’s laptop and hard drive and found numerous photos and videos that allegedly showed his wife being r*ped or s*xually assaulted while she was asleep.
Detectives have alleged the woman was drugged with diazepam and unaware of what was happening when the videos and photos were taken.
They have alleged some of the photos, included s*x acts performed on the sleeping woman with a green tree frog, were uploaded to a p*rnography site and shared with other users.
Police have also alleged the man emailed videos of s*x acts being performed on his wife to another person.
They alleged the woman never granted consent to her husband to take the images of her or upload them.
Police have alleged the man posted on the p*rn site alongside his uploaded files that he had a fetish for "passed out s*x’’.
The charges against him were withdrawn in 2012 but the case was re-opened following a review of the brief of evidence by the Office for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
It ruled there was sufficient evidence to recharge the man over the alleged offences given the quantity of electronic evidence involved.
The man’s case was mentioned briefly in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday.
