Why BF Expose Fake Soldier GF (Read)
FAKE SOLDIER |
Nworgu, an in-law to Omieh, explained that Collins Jegede
had planned to marry
the lady and fixed February 28, 2014 for
the wedding, but changed his mind when another lady showed up in
his life.
The businessman, who is married to one of Omieh’s sisters,
explained that arrangement had been put in place for the wedding in Cross River
State, adding that Jegede had also visited the family members before dumping
the lady.
Nworgu, who condemned Omieh for posing as a soldier, also
described Jegede as a deceitful man with “unclean hands,” insisting that he
betrayed his ex-fiancée to the authorities because she wanted the refund of the money she gave him
for the wedding.
The 323 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Akure, Ondo
State, had last week paraded Omieh for posing as a soldier. Sets of military uniform, police
extract and a sworn affidavit for loss of her military identity card were said
to have been found with her.
The Public
Relations Officer of the brigade, Captain Ademola Adegoke, had said
Omieh was arrested following a report by her boyfriend, adding that the suspect
was also discovered to be in possession of two pairs of camouflage T-shirt and
shorts, one pair of desert boot, one jungle hat and three handsets.
But Nworgu, who spoke to our correspondent on Friday in
Abuja, stated that Jegede had promised to refund the money, but defaulted
several times, adding that a traditional ruler even intervened in the matter.
He said,”I don’t support what Angela (Omieh) did because her
action was evil; why should she pose as a soldier when she is not one. But at
the same time, the whole world should know that Jegede planned to marry a fake
soldier and had even fixed February 28 for the wedding before he changed his
mind when his old girlfriend showed up.
“He exposed Angela to the military authorities because she
insisted on recovering the N300,000 she gave to him for their wedding. What was
his intention in planning to marry a fake soldier? Angela also claimed that she
bought the uniform from Army depot in Zaria, I expect the authorities to
investigate and arrest those selling the uniforms; the case should not just
stop at parading Angela.”
When contacted, Jegede who claimed to be in church denied collecting money from his
ex-fiancée.
“I don’t know what you are talking about; it is a blatant
lie. Please I am in church now, I can’t say more than that,” he said over the
phone on Sunday.
