Photo-- Another Church Collapses In Edo

                     Barely 10 days after a church building collapsed in Benin, Edo state, another church building belonging to the Liberty Power Bible Church Incorporated has collapsed at Asoro Slope, off Ekenwan Road in the state.
According to Punch report, following a heavy downpour on Sunday, September 8, the church auditorium caved in at about 1.30pm.

A residential building was also affected by the disaster. However, there were no casualties.
The church owner, Apostle Moses Erue, was said to have returned few hours after the collapse to salvage some of the church property.
According to report, the collapse may have been caused by the use of inferior materials used in building the church.
Lamenting his loss, Mr Ajoh Silvanus, owner of the affected residential building said he had earlier warned severally about the inferior materials being used for the construction of the church auditorium but it feel on deaf ears.
“I have been complaining to the pastor of this church that he was erecting the church like a fence without pillars, even the blocks were made with ordinary sand. There were no pillars in the main building and outer part was built with three rods,” Ajoh said.
He added that the owner of the church was more concerned about the safety of the church speakers, rather than the damage done to his own building.
Mr Ajoh explained that he called the police to interfere as the pastor showed no concern for his damaged property and he was apprehended.
He however thanked God that no live was lost.
On September 12, a guest house belonging to the Synagogue Church of all Nations collapsed in Ikotun area of Lagos, living no fewer than 115 people dead.
Some days later, precisely September 19, another church building belonging to Christ Chosen Church of God collapsed, killing one person.
