Latest reports emanating from Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, indicate that President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday met behind closed doors with security chiefs.
Punch reports that the meeting was meant to review the security situation in the country, especially in the North East.
It was gathered that the service chiefs and the acting Inspector-General of Police, Suleiman Abba, met with the President, Vice President Namadi Sambo and relevant ministers at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Meanwhile, newsmen were not briefed on the details of the meeting after deliberations.
The latest meeting was held after the leader of the Boko Haram sect, Abubakar Shekau, debunked claims by Nigeriamn military that he was killed early September in Kodunga, Borno State.
However, it was not clear whether the development was discussed at the meeting.
The Federal Government led by President Jonathan has been waging war against the Islamist militants since 2009.
The sect is believed to have caused the death of thousands of innocent Nigerians through their terror attacks across Nigeria.
