Defense Headquarter Denies Cameroon's Airstrike On Boko Haram

The Nigerian Defense headquarters has denied the operation of any foreign force in any part of the country.
Following the reports that the Cameroon Army carried out an attack against Boko Haram along the border it shares with Nigeria, Cameroon’s Information Minister, Issa Tchiroma, disclosed on Monday, December 29, that Cameroon’s army had killed at least 41 militants as it fought off a wave of attacks along its border with Nigeria in an escalation in the conflict,
However, the Director of Defence Information, Major-General Chris Olukolade, via his Twitter handle, refuted the claims, saying: “What could be the motive of Foreign Media outfits peddling false/exaggerated claims of Neighboring Army’s #COIN exploits on Nigerian soil?”
Similarly, the Twitter handle of the Defence headquarters, also shut-down the reports, saying it would carry out an investigation into the supposed “operation”.
It wrote: “FYI: We will investigate claims of Airstrikes by a Foreign Force on our Soil. This serves to satisfy peddlers of strange claims and stories”, adding that “Ongoing highly Coordinated Air OPs is conducted by the #NigerianAirforce. NO indication of any Foreign Force engaging in any part of Nigeria”.
