58 Killed, 139 Injured as Multiple Bomb Blast Hit Two Markets In Borno State

According to a Reuters witness and a military source, the first two explosions were from bombs, one in a market and another close to a market. Less than an hour after the first set of bombs went off in the town, a third blast was recorded with no casualty figures yet, a witness told Reuters.
According to Aljazeera, the initial twin bomb attack targeted a busy market in the town has killed at least 10 people. Clement Adoda, the state commissioner of police, explained how the attacks occurred.
“Today, Saturday, explosions through Improvised Explosive Devise (IED) occurred at three locations in Maiduguri,” he said. “The first one was at first gate of Baga Road Market, at about 11: 44hrs, the second was at about12:30hrs at Monday Market, while the third was at Borno Express Park at about 12:52hrs. “So far, reports from the three locations indicate that 58 people died while 139 persons were injured.”
He added that normalcy had since been restored to the affected areas
