60 Year Old Man Sets 8 Year Old Girl On Fire Over Witchcraft

In Barakin - Ladi Local Government Area Of Plateau State, a 60-year-old man has been arraigned for setting fire on an 8-year-old girl following his suspicions of her being a witch. 

The Incident which happen during the early hours of Tuesday. with less people around to help the child

The suspect, identified as Yakubu Vong, was said to have asked the girl to a house where he doused her with petrol and set her ablaze.

It was gathered that the man, after setting the girl ablaze, locked the room in the building. The cry of the girl attracted passers bye who forced the door open and rushed her to a hospital. She was said to have died before reaching the hospital.

The Police Public Relations officer, Plateau State command, Emmanuel Abu, who confirmed the incident, said the man had been arrested and investigations into the matter had commenced.
