Rip Alert!!! NYSC Corper Found Dead In His Room Few Days To His Discharge Of Youth Corp Service (See Photos)

Nigerian graduates serving the country for the past one year will be having their passing out parade (POP) this Thursday.

Too bad Ray Obiora Okonkwo, who was 25 years old as at the time of his dead, will not be passing out. He just passed on.
“We noticed we haven’t seen him in a while and were asking his sister about his whereabouts,” a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Calabar, Cross Rivers State told CCNA.

“Then she went to his house and found him dead on the floor,” the Corps member told us. Ray’s apartment is located around the popular Pyramid Hotel in Calabar.

The circumstances surrounding the death of the Anambra born graduate of Computer Science is unknown to us.

“We’re not sure if its poison,” another corps member who doesn’t want to be named told us.

One thing that is now sure, sadly, is that while Ray’s mates will be discharged to go live their dreams, his own lifeless body will be put six feet below ground zero.

His death will certainly leave his Enugu-based parents and his three other brothers, and only sister devastated.

He was the first of the five children Mr. and Mrs. Okonkwo could call their own.

“The situation seems complicated by the fact that his only sister, Chibuzo, is also serving with him here in Calabar,” another “Batch B” Otondo in Cross Rivers State said.

The 23-year-old bereaved lady said her brother’s corpse will be sent to their parents in Enugu on Tuesday.

An autopsy is expected to be conducted on the dead body of the University of Nigeria (UNN) alumnus before it is given back to the earth.

We pray God grant Ray’s family the fortitude to bear this great loss.
