Governor Wike Spends N2billion Daily - APC

The Rivers State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress has accused Governor Nyesom Wike, of allegedly squandering over N60 billion within 30 days of assumption in office.
The party in a statement released in Port Harcourt on Thursday, July 2, by its chairman, Davies Ibiamu Ikanya, claimed that Wike, on a daily bases spent the sum of N2 billion for the last 30 days.

He said: “In what is clearly a tale of the absurd, Wike’s rubber stamp State House of Assembly has approved a whopping sum of N30bn within 30 days for expenditure without any project attached.
“Apart from this N30bn, the administration of Rt. Hon. Chbuike Amaechi left the sum of N7.5bn, plus the N23bn released to the state from the Federation Account and Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), making the total funds available for Wike to squander over N60bn within 30 days.”
Ikanya added that while governors of states like Kaduna, Bauchi, Sokoto, Abia, Lagos, Delta and Adamawa that were sworn-in the same date with Wike, are initiating and executing projects aimed at improving the standard of living of their citizens, he is busy supervising the liquidation of the economy of Rivers state through acts of squandermania unknown to modern governance in the entire world.
“Wike has succeeded in turning Rivers state to one of the dirtiest states in Nigeria and one without security, he has also ensured that our people now sleep with one eye opened,” he said.
The party advised banks to stop advancing loans to Wike’s administration as such loans would be difficult to recover if such funds are released without any project attached to them.
“The period of sharing Rivers State money among some unscrupulous politicians ceased since 2007 and cannot be reintroduced through the back door,” the party said.
The Rivers APC, however, sympathised with the people saying; “it a matter of time, the Election Petition Tribunal will retrieved their stolen mandate.”
