Mechanic faces jail term for selling his customer’s car in Anthony Village (See)

Yahaya, a 30-year-old mechanic, faces the possibility of spending some
years in jail for breaking the trust of his customer, Adeniyi Adeosun,
by allegedly selling a car given to him to repairs for personal gains at
Adebayo Mokuolu Street, Anthony Village, LagosYahaya
is believed to have put up the vehicle for sale in the absence of
Adeosun, who was on a business trip. One Mr. Emiola Ramoni bought the
car for N500, 000, and made a quick gain of N90,000 by selling the car
to another suspect, now at large, for N590, 000.
Adeosun,
on his arrival from the trip, however, suspected foul play when his
efforts to reach Yahaya proved abortive. Adeosun then reported the
matter to policemen at the Anthony division.
Yahaya and Ramoni were arrested and arraigned before a Yaba Magistrate’s Court on three counts.
The
charges read in part, “That you, Tunde Yahaya, Emiola Ramoni and other
at large, sometime in the month of February, 2015, on Adebayo Mokuolu
Street, Anthony Village, Lagos, did conspire among yourselves to commit
felony to wit; stealing and receiving stolen propert.”
The
defendants pleaded not guilty. The magistrate, Mrs. E. N. Johnson,
granted them bail in the sum of N200,000, with two sureties in like sum.
The matter was adjourned till September 10, 2015.
