The Inability of some Teachers in public and privates schools across the country to deliver on their teaching in the different subject have been attributed for the declining standard of education in the country.
This was disclosed by the principal of Triplecross high school Ikeja,Tugbiyele Ife, in a chat with DailyTimes, stressing that the problem was not with the curriculum content but rather: the failure of teachers to understand how to deliver on their lessons plans, lack of commitment among teachers among others.

Tugbiyele advocated for the restructuring of the education sector adding that it current state was a reflection of the Nigerian society.

She said "Is not really about drop in standard, the problem is not with the content in the curriculum but rather the delivery by the teachers. And also the kind of training, attitude of teachers ,their commitment is no more there and it has affected the standard the corruption in the society and it general state is affected the sector".Tugbiyele added.

The principal expressed surprise by the decision of the federal government to scraped the post-UTME test adding that it often help to eliminate fraud and unsuitable candidates in the admission process.

She urged the federal government to strengthen the Joint admission and matriculation Board (JAMB) to enable it conduct a credible,Unified tertiary matriculation examination UTME,adding that JAMB was still relevant.

"We can still have JAMB they are still credible and they are doing well. But they can improve on their services, am surprise by the news of the cancellation of the post-UTME,I belive they should keep the post -UTME it should not be scrap, have we forgotten the reason why it was set up"?.

"This days the problems are multifaced The students that are gaining admission into tertiary institutions are too young. That is the reason why they engaged in some of this things when they are there. And that is because of the proifilicatn of schools, a lot of parents want to be proud that there children graduate  at a young age".
