Why I Want To Become Chairman of Ikeja LGA- Adewale
A frontier Chairmanship Aspirant of Ikeja local government, Lagos state,
under the All progressive congress,(APC) Barrister Babafemi Adewale
Saheed has promise to initiate a scholarship Scheme for brilliant but
indigent students in the Council to school abroad if elected.
worried by the high rate of drop out among youths in secondary and tertiary education in the society, he revealed that his administration would pay West African senior school certificate examination (WASSCE) exam fees of students in the council and also build a modern library equip with the latest books.
Honorable Babafemi is the son of the late, Hon Yekini Adewale,a.k.a EXCELLENT a prominent politician in Ikeja local government area,noted that he would also place priority on the welfare of the Aged in the society,adding that he would build a welfare home for the aged and employ social workers to take care of them.
"Without education you are nothing. I would initiate a scholarly scheme where the best and indigent students would be send abroad so that when they come back they can be useful to the our community. We would also pay the WAEC fees of the brilliant ones. If you go round this Ikeja, there is no library ,I would build a standard library and equip it with books if am elected".
"The elders people in our society are suffering and it is not their fault that they are old. And you know at that age so many sickness would come. we would build a welfare home for the elderly and employ social workers to take care of them we would get the money because I know Nigeria are philanthropy in nature".Babafemi added.
The former special Assistant to the Chairman,public Account committee in the National assembly disclosed that the council would initiate an agriculture revolution programme, established farm to boost food to be sold at affordable price to the people.
The graduate of Dublin institute of technology promised to build medical centres in each ward in Ikeja and empower un-employ youths on skill acquisition.
According to him"I would establish a medical centres in each ward in the council and help the youths that are unemployed to learn a vocation so that can be useful to them self and the society. Iam also interested in provision of affordable housing for the people,low cost housing that the people can afford I believe this plan are realisable if am giving a chance".Adewale added
