Woman Dies In Fatal Accident 4 Days To Her Wedding

Officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), have announced the death of a 20-year-old woman identified simply as Rukayyat, who lost her life in a ghastly accident just four days to her wedding.

According to Daily Trust, the deceased was on a okada at Abaji along the Abuja-Lokoja road in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT),
when the front tyre of the bike blew out, causing the cyclist to lose control.

The Okadaman was said to have jumped from the machine leaving the poor lady who was crushed to death by an oncoming J5 Peugeot bus which ran over her in the middle of the road, killing her instantly.

According to an eyewitness who identified himself as Aliyu, after running over the lady, the bus driver sped off leaving the mangled body of the deceased on the road, adding that it was some sympathizers who rushed to the scene of the accident that called officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), who conveyed the remains to the Abaji General Hospital.

“After the deceased was confirmed dead by doctors, a certificate of death was issued and her corpse was conveyed in the FRSC van to her relatives for burial,” Aliyu said.

The deceased who was said to hail from Shafa-Abakpa in Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State had gone to Abaji to buy some items in preparation for her wedding when she met her untimely death.
