A thief who specialises in stealing and snatching of tricycles popularly known as Keke Napep in Enugu, has been arrested by New Haven division police. Giving his name as Michael Uzodinma, the suspect narrated to Coalcity Connect on how he and some members of his gang, who are already on the run, would steal and negotiate with buyers for stolen Keke napep.

Narrating in Igbo language; “We used to negotiate with our buyers who usually have us money before we strike. We go to areas where Keke napep is usually parked and with the help of Chekwube Okoye who is a keke mechanic based in Onitsha and our gang members, we dismantle the Keke and drive it out. We are three in number which include Chekwube Okoye, Kingsley Ozo also from Onitsha.

They used to come from Onitsha to meet me and from there, we all go to snatch or steal any Keke from Where they are parked. I know that what we are doing is not good but we want to meet up because am a bus conductor” he said.

The suspect is currently helping in investigation.
