Governor Ayodele Fayose Over The Finances of The Ekiti State Government
The Executive Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose seems to have pulled one over the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in an ongoing case.
A Federal High Court in the state capital, Ado-Ekiti today ruled that the anti-graft agency did not have the jurisdiction or power to probe the finances of the State Government.
The Ado Court had reportedly ruled on the case:
According to the court, only the State House of Assembly has the power to investigate the finances of a State Government.

“in federalism, the Federal Government is not an overseer or supervisor regarding finances of a State.”Furthermore, the Court issued a restraining order against the EFCC that stops it from either investigating or arresting officials of the Ekiti State Government.
According to the court, only the State House of Assembly has the power to investigate the finances of a State Government.
