Blasphemy Of Prophet Muhammad: Student Killed, Many Injured As Modibbo Adama University Closes Indefinitely Over This WhatApp Message

A serious crisis has broken out among students at the Modibbo Adama University of Technology (MAUTECH) Yola, leading to a hurried deployment of soldiers and anti-riot police.
The Senate of the institution has ordered an indefinite closure of the school following students’ unrest Sunday. The school confirmed one student had been killed and church properties destroyed.
The violence started following an alleged blasphemy of the Prophet Muhammad
on WhatsApp. The alleged blasphemy led to protests and calls for the school authority to take action.
The dean of students affairs, Haruna Lawal, described how a student died. ‘’In the wake of the crisis, some students leaving in Sangere village that houses majority of the students, engaged in fisticuff with the residents of the area during which one of the student was injured.
The injured student was later taken to the university clinic for treatment and later transferred to a nearby hospital FMC in Yola, where he gave the ghost.”
