52 year old man Commits Suicide After Slaughtering His Late Brothers Wife In River State

            Tragedy struck at Rumuakunde community in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State as a 52 year old man identified as Obinuchi Orluwene killed himself after he slaughtered his late brother's wife, Mrs. Priscilla Orluwene.

             The incident reportedly took place yesterday at about 7.45 AM when most family members were preparing to attend church service. 

One of the family members, who spoke with one of our reporter based in river state when he paid a visit to their family compound, said the 55 years old Priscilla was washing clothes when Obinuchi attacked her.

He said the murderer also attempted to slaughter a teenage boy that raised alarm during the incident.  

He noted that the murderer has been sharpening his machete for more than four days and the family members thought he was preparing for farm as they are in harvest season.

The family member who further explained that there was no dispute in their family said late Obinuchi doesn't associate with family members to the extent that he don’t eat or allow his children share anything with other family members.

Also one of the family elders told our correspondent that such incident has not occurred ever since the existence of the community.

He disclosed that they have already sent the corpse of late Obinuchi to the evil forest as tradition demands.
