The Nigeria 2015 presidential elections which took place on Saturday March 28, 2015 and spilled over to Sunday the 29th, has been the most talked about issue in the country all week.
Not only has it been the most anticipated elections in Nigeria with two prominent politicians garnering to be president – Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and Muhammadu Buhari; but it has also been one of the most suspense filled and fun event so far, as Nigerians have once again shown that they can bring their good sense of humor into even the most important event in the country.

1. To some Nigerians, it was more than politics, it was like the premiere league featuring our two strongest and favorite teams – PDP VS APC
2. For those who are not very much into football, it was like a game ‘Mortal Kombat’ with GEJ going against GMB featuring the legendary ‘snake in the monkey shadow’ technique. (Jet Li and kung fu fans would understand).
3. The man of the day was definitely Jega Attahiru, as he managed to keep us glued to our screens for 2 days straight listening to results. If we pay attention like this in school, we will definitely cure cancer soon!
4. Those who were not close to a TV set apparently formed a radio listening committee. (No excuses, we must hear the results for ourselves!)
5. Jega really made the exercise suspense filled; especially with those long breaks we did not like. But we were patient an willing to do anything for the results. He could have asked for a performance and we would have agreed.
6. That moment when they announced Kano results with an alarmingly high number of registered voters, of which Buhari got 1,903,999 votes and Jonathan got only 215,779 votes. We never ‘experredit’!

8. Those moments when Jega would call for 10 minutes breaks that ended up extending to over 30 minutes. Did he not understand the tension was killing us???
9. Finally, we weathered the tension and got our results; and to make things better, Patrick Obahiagbon did not forget to send us running to the pharmacy for pain killers as his reaction to the elections simply knocked our brains.
