Ekiti: PDP Removes Fayose’s Men From Exco
Crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State has
deepened following the State Working Committee (SWC) led by the Acting
Chairman, Tunde Olatunde, decision to ratify the appointment of Dapo
Adebisi as the new Deputy Chairman.
The decision was taken during the SWC meeting held on Monday at the state party secretariat.
The meeting was presided over by Olatunde and attended by 10
other state executive members.
Adebisi replaces the former Deputy Chairman, Femi Bamisile, who
defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) shortly before last
year’s governorship election.
The new deputy chairman hails from Ward 5 in Kota, Ekiti East local
government area of the state, like his predecessor, Bamisile.
The SWC also removed an ally of Governor Ayodele Fayose, Jackson Adebayo, as party’s Publicity Secretary in the state.
Adebayo was named by chairman of Fayose-backed faction, Idowu Faleye,
to replace Kola Oluwawole, who resigned to contest for a seat in the
state House of Assembly.
Oluwawole won the Assembly poll and was subsequently elected Speaker.
The new Publicity Secretary is Michael Folorunso Oladipo, who hails
from Erinmope Ward 1 in Moba local government area of the state.
Oladipo assured the media of “robust cooperation” and promised to work harder to boost the image of the party.
