I Don’t Poke My Nose into EFCC Affair – Tinubu
This is in response to Waku accusing Tinubu of masterminding the persecution of wife of Senate
President, Toyin Saraki.
Former Lagos State Governor, Bola Tinubu says he is working towards
getting the All Progressives Congress -APC back on track, such that he
does not have time to poke his nose into EFCC affairs.
Former Vice-Chairman and member, Board of Trustees of the Arewa
Consultative Forum, Senator Joseph Waku, had accused Tinubu of using his
personal relationship with the Chairman of the Economic and Financial
Crimes Commission – EFCC, Ibrahim Lamorde to embarrass and torment
fellow party members, claiming that he (Tinubu) masterminded the
petition that prompted the anti graft agency to invite wife of Senate
President, Toyin Saraki for questioning.
Tinubu, also a leader of the ruling APC however, dismissed the
accusation, saying, like every other person, he (Tinubu) had also been
investigated by the EFCC.
Part of a statement signed by the former Senator’s media office read:
‘’Tinubu has no hand in the travails of anyone because he is right now
very busy working with others of like mind on how the APC political
agenda can set sail as quickly as possible.
On his accuser, Waku, Asiwaju, as Tinubu is popularly called,
described the former Senator as “an individual with no shred of
reputation and a political pariah in his home state.’’
He said: ‘’No one should pay former Senator Waku any attention. We know when he is broke and needs a quick fix.”
