El-Rufai Reveals How Jonathan's Minister Tried To Return N50bn Through Him (See)

Governor, Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state, has revealed that a former minister attempted to return $250 million (roughly N50 billion) to the federal government through him.

The New York Times, in a recent report, quoted El-Rufai as

having claimed to have been approached by an unnamed former minister.

In the report titled: Nigeria President Escalates Campaign to Stem Corruption, El-Rufai claimed that associates of the former minister approached him with the offer.

“When you say you want to refund, it means you are admitting that you took what was not yours. I said, ‘I am a governor, I am not involved in this. I will pass on your message.’ ”
