Denfizy ( born as Dennis Ifedilichukwu Agbo on December 12 ), is a Nigerian rapper from opi Nsukka, Enugu state (042). Denfizy is the last child of his parent 5 kids, he has 2 brothers and 2 sisters. His father died when he was 3years old,he was therefore raised with his other siblings by his single mother. He developed love for music especially Hiphop right from childhood,while in secondary school he form a group called B3, himself, ifeanyi (Devoe) and Nnamdi (De Boss),they mainly specialize in miming popular songs back then. He wrote his first song while in SS2. He graduated in 2011 from "IMT" Enugu with HND in Mass Communication.

PressPlayTv:  Hello Denfizy how long have you been doing music and how did you get started in the first place?

Denfizy:  Hi hahaha,well to me music is inborn,I developed love for music right from when I was a kid and it continued till my secondary school days when I form a group called B3 with my two closest friends (De Boss & Devoe) shout out to them cus they got my back all time,we are cool cats lol. What we do back then is mime popular songs in school and perform in end of year parties. I wrote my first song when I was in SS2 and that's when I started nurturing the idea of becoming a professional Rap artiste, in 2007 Mekoyo produced my first studio song featuring Dodge and SlowDog who happens to be one of the greatest rapper to come out of Eastern part of Nigeria in recent time. The song gained me a little recognition then but I didn't push it much cus I had just secured admission to study mass in IMT so I needed to focus more on my study. I didn't record any song again till 2012, I graduated in 2011 and completed my NYSC in early 2014. Now am fully back to the business and I will set the industry ablaze,for real not bragging,everyone should watch out for me.

PressPlayTv: Are you currently signed to any Record label?

Denfizy: Nope, just me myself and I and God. Shout out to family and friends and everyone that's supporting in one way or the other. I actually have my own entertainment brand called (RhythmCity) but if any good offer come knocking my arms are wide open to embrace it

PressPlayTv: Are you in a relationship?

Denfizy: yea with God hahaha, I know what you mean,am single but not searching. Currently married to the game & my hustle.

PressPlayTv: How do you align with your friends in the industry?

Denfizy: lol I can't really say I have friends in the industry,I would rather say colleagues. Anyway devil  is using some people as instrument, some people dey form rubbish clique but I dey form my own clique with God so we go know who strong pass. God is everything that I have.

PressPlayTv: What inspires your music?

Denfizy: Things I go through in my everyday life,the happenings in our society and other peoples story. Most importantly my major inspiration comes from God, I give him all the glory
6. Who & who have  influences on your music and style?

Denfizy:  I have no role model but there are some good people I started listening to from the beginning. For international" the likes of Jay Z and Nas then recently B.O.B & Drake, In Nigeria" the likes of Vector,MI,Ice prince,oga Boss illbliss & my bro Phyno.   There is so much creativity in these guys music that I admire much,shout out to all other good emcees holding it down well out there.

PressPlayTv: In your opinion who is the most influential and successful artist in your genre today and why?

Denfizy:  To me its not a competition, everyone is running the race on their own lane so I believe if you are good and is smartly working hard things should be working out well for you. I don't think I have the capacity to judge that this person is better & more influential than the other person. Everyone na king for his lane,na so I see am

8. Which famous song or sound production, ultimately describes what you’d like Denfizy music productions to sound like?

Denfizy:  Any good sound that can make people feel good & reflex on their positive side of life. I do music to entertain and make people happy.

PressPlayTv: If you could compare yourself to an already established artist, who would that be and why?

Denfizy: lol, like I said earlier its not a competition. I run my race on my pace and on my own lane, I stay focused with smart work to keep myself motivated. I can't compare myself with anyone

PressPlayTv:  Do you think your music is mostly enjoyed more for the beats or for the lyrical flow and content?

Denfizy:  These are the times of the beats especially in the Nigeria society where the fans likes to dance a lot so many artists want to satisfy the fans,am not actually against that, but with me I am not trying to copy or imitate what all the other artists are doing.  When people hear my music I want it to be more about the lyrics and the content than just beat.  Anybody can talk about making money, throwing ones in the strip clubs but how many people are actually doing all of this in real,some niggaz never see food chop well dey sing/rap about popping champagne. If I talk about struggling to pay bill, relationships, and actual events of life that people go through then people can relate to the song. Hopefully they will think about the beat later

PressPlayTv: Do you make your own beats and write your own lyrics? If you don’t do any of this by yourself, how do you get this done?

Denfizy:  I only write and voice my songs, I pay producers to make beat for me.

PressPlayTv: If you could choose to work with some of today’s established artists or producers, to move your game to the top, with whom would you like to collaborate?

Denfizy:  Hmmm there are plenty people in my mind ooo both in Nigeria and international, meanwhile it all depends on the style of song I want to do which will determine who will fit in the song the most but top of the list is Donjazzy,Swizzbeat,Iceprince,

Vector,Jay z and AKA, they are many just like I said earlier.

PressPlayTv:  Which latest songs or videos releases are currently available to your fans and where can they be heard or downloaded?

Denfizy:  I actually don't have any video out yet, but I just released a new dope song titled leave story which can be gotten in so many site but it will be easier for download if they google it. PressPlayTv: Which ingredient do you think is most essential in making your sound and style the way it is?

Denfizy:  Only one. Originality.

PressPlayTv: Which emotion more than any other, currently dominates your music? Joy, sadness, anger or passion etc. , and why?

Denfizy:  I have to say all of them. My music expresses my life. Although there have been more good times than bad, when people listen to my music they can feel all of my emotions and my life experience


PressPlayTv: What aspect of the music making process excites you most, and what aspect discourages you the most?

Denfizy:  When I am in the studio on the microphone, I am in my own zone. My blood starts pumping, hands sweaty, then show time. That’s exciting to me and more especially when people call or walk up to me to appreciate my work. There is really nothing about the music making process that discourages me but there is no career in this life without its challenges,meanwhile finding the right way to tackle the challenges should be the major thing instead of allowing it to discourage you

PressPlayTv: How involved are you in the recording, producing, mastering, marketing, and other processes needed to make and sell your music, and do you outsource any part of these processes?

Denfizy:  I am about 40-50% involved with each of those steps. I realised that it takes more than just me to get the job done.  I focus more on writing my songs and voicing cus I believe in division of labour. I pay producers to make beat for me,then bloggers and promoter for publicity and distribution.                                     Music is a business and in every business there is operational unit and marketing unit which one person can't handle. I also spent good time in researching and reading to keep myself informed in the changing world.

PressPlayTv:  Do you think the advent of internet and all the new technology has helped your music and independent musicians in general?

Denfizy:  Everything that has advantage has its own disadvantage, I will start by saying that internet have given a lot of artists an opportunity to showcase themselves including me,it created a good platform to bring artists and their fans closer. Having said that  it has also allowed people around the world to download or copy music for free which helps artists to have a wider fan base but its at the detriment of artists welfare.
 Because of the internet, artists think it’s easy to try and become the next big thing to get signed to a major label. After artists were discovered on Youtube many other artists attempted to do the same.  Some failed and some succeeded. Some have attempted to buy likes, views, and comments to gain their fame. Which buying these don’t really get you fame but empty pockets. My advice to those who pay for those services, “Get in the streets hustle, work, and grind. At least the number will look more believable than just sitting behind the computer perpetrating.”

PressPlayTv:  In your experience thus far, what is the best piece of advice in this business you actually followed? And one you didn’t follow, but now know for sure that you should have?

Denfizy:  Everyone have their philosophy but Hustling and working smart is one of the basic thing that helps. Also I learned from my manager that doing interviews such as this will prepare me for other interviews, especially spontaneous one like radio/television which I have started engaging myself recently. For the second part of the question, in the beginning, I wanted everything to happen very fast but something happened and I realised that I need to have patience and stay motivated. patience and prayer is what everyone should hold on to no matter what you do,one day it will definitely be your turn.

PressPlayTv:  Being an independent artist, which is the one factor, above all else, that you currently desire most (increased music distribution, better quality production, more media exposure, more club and live performances etc…)?

Denfizy:  More media coverage of course.  If I get the media on my side, everything else will fall into place.

PressPlayTv: Where do you distribute and promote your music and why do you think this channel works best for you?

Denfizy:  For now, I only do free blog post to allow the people access my song without charges so that they can get familiar with my work and style. I also promote my songs on radio to get to the people who doesn't have access to the internet. The reason why allow my music to be accessed freely is cus I don't think anybody would want to purchase a song of an artists they don't know or heard his work before. In near time when I must have gotten a wider fans I will start releasing an albums and have my song on Itunes,Amazon,youtube and distribute my CD's in alaba and other platforms

PressPlayTv:  How important do you think video is to your music, and how do you produce your videos?

Denfizy:  Although I haven’t released any  video, having one creates another outlet for your music to be heard. Video is very important to every artists because it provides the artists the chance of showing his face to the world and a good video further interprets the message of the song which some people were not able to understand. It’s very important for the video to have a plot that is the same as the song. I see a great number of videos both independent and mainstream artists that create videos that have no content, all they do is show large number of semi nude girls that shaking their ukwu (ass) up and down which to me is not necessary.

PressPlayTv: Is going Platinum or winning a award important to you, and If you were forced to make only one choice, which of the two would you choose and why?

Denfizy:  Platinum" because that means fans love my music and was willing to spin money to buy it. Major awards is important to every artists career but considering the manipulation in the recent awards I no longer believe in some awards but when you go platinum it will pave way for many awards to come without manipulation cus yours fans will definitely rise up to vote for you.

PressPlayTv: Where do you see yourself in five years time?

Denfizy: Becoming an international artist that people will celebrate the world over. Happily married with children by God's grace.

PressPlayTv: Do you have any fresh plans or project that you would want your fans to know about?

Denfizy: Yea definitely. I have been recording a lot of songs lately and I will be releasing one on my birthday December 12. For 2016 project, expect dope videos and great collaborations from me by God's grace
