Woman Gives Birth In Hospital Lift While Being Rushed To The Delivery Room. Photos

A baby boy was born on the floor of a hospital lift as doctors raced the expectant mother to the delivery room was captured on dramatic CCTV footage. The footage shows people evacuating the elevator when it became clear the mum was not going to make it to the maternity unit on time.

Li Fengling, who works as a lift operator at the Wenshang County People’s Hospital, in East China , described how the heavily pregnant woman entered the lift in “a lot of pain”.

Li said he immediately stopped the car on the orders of a doctor.

Nurse, Lin Jun, and a doctor then helped the woman who had collapsed in the corner when the baby started to crown.

Lin said the baby boy’s head was clearly showing and it was “already too late” to get the mum to the delivery room.

The nurse was then forced to help deliver the child in the corner of the cramped space.

As soon as the baby was born, the pair were taken up to the delivery room and while Lin carried the newborn, Li scooped the mother up in his arms and rushed the pair to a bed.

The baby boy was born at a good weight of just under six pounds and is in a healthy and stable, according to doctors.
