I Only Killed 2 People, First Person Was A Child – Arrested Boko Haram Member Reveals. Photos
Mohammad Bashir, a member of the Boko Haram terrorist group who was
nabbed in Ondo State on Saturday, revealed on Tuesday that he had
planned to launch an attack in Ondo State before his arrest. The suspect
was arrested by the Ondo State Police Command’s Anti-Crime Patrol Squad
on Isua Road in AKoko South Local Government Area. While in police
custody, Mr. Bashir confessed to being a member of Boko Haram.

Speaking with journalists at the Ondo State Police Command
headquarters in Akure, Mr. Bashir provided details of the terrorist
group’s operations. He revealed that certain wealthy northerners,
particularly from Maiduguri and Nasarawa State, supplied Boko Haram with
weapons.
The forty-year-old terrorist explained that he used to be a Fulani
herdsman before he was forcefully conscripted into the terrorist sect in
Nasarawa State in 2016.
After joining the group, Mr. Bashir killed two people, including a child. Both victims were killed in Nasarawa State.
“I only killed two people. The first person was a little child who I
murdered inside the bush while the second one was an adult I killed by
the roadside,” Mr. Bashir said in the Hausa language.
According to him, there are many other terrorists hiding from the military in local communities in the South-West.
“I ran into Ondo State from Nasarawa after the military launched a
manhunt for us (Boko Haram) in the North. When I arrived in the state, I
went straight to see my younger brother and decided to walk on the
streets of the community.
“I had planned to strike but first wanted to eat by the roadside when
I was arrested by the police patrol team and moved down to their
station,” he said
Mr. Bashir said there are other fleeing Boko Haram members hiding in various communities of Ondo State.
“Some of our members who ran from the military are still scattered around the local communities in Ondo State,” he said.
Gbenga Adeyanju, the Commissioner of Police in Ondo State who paraded
the Boko Haram member before reporters, confirmed that Mr. Bashir was
arrested while roaming the streets of Isua Akoko in the Ifira area of
the community.
Mr. Adeyanju also explained that the terrorist, a native of the Niger
Republic, confessed to the police that he is a follower of one Daffo
who is a very close servant to the wanted leader of Boko Haram, Abubakar
Shekau.
He noted that the command has already deployed police officers to the
border towns of the state and has placed them on red alert over the
movement of strangers into the local communities.
The police boss also vowed to arrest and deal decisively with the fleeing members of the sect.
“Definitely, we will get them and you shall the results very soon,” Mr. Adeyanju said.
Mr. Adeyanju later paraded some arrested cult groups and criminals who cultivate Indian hemp in the state.
He added that the arrested suspects will be charged to a court of law after proper investigation is conducted by the police.
