3 Persons Missing in Lagos Boat Mishap

        Three persons are still missing following a boat mishap at Ogogoro village, Navy Town, Apapa, Lagos, on Friday, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency has said.
       In a phone conversation with Saturday PUNCH on Friday, the agency’s General Manager, Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, said he had launched a search and rescue mission to find the missing persons. Oke-Osanyintolu said seven out of the 10 passengers on the boat had already been rescued alive, adding that none of them had worn life jackets.

        “The local passenger boat was with 10 persons and it was going from Coconut jetty in Apapa to Ojo town when it capsized behind Navy Town. Seven persons have been rescued while three persons are still missing.
       “We are still searching for the missing persons and I believe they still have a chance of survival,” he said.
        The incident reportedly occurred around 12am but the identities of the missing persons were still unknown as at the time of writing this report. However, Oke-Osanyintolu said the rescued persons were attended to by the state ambulance service and were all in stable condition.
