51-Year-Old Man ''Ismaila Atupa'' Beheaded

 

          Residents of Doma community, in Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, were on Saturday thrown into mourning following the beheading of a 51-year-old man, Ismaila Atupa.
          Nigerian Tribune reports that the victim was beheaded by a yet to be identified persons in the wee hour of the night.

It was reported that after the victim’s head was cut off, his body was dumped at the refuse dump close to the local government secretariat.
Some of the residents who expressed fears said such tragedy has not befallen them over a decade now.
When contacted on Sunday in Lafia, the state police spokesman, Ismaila Numan confirmed the incident, but noted that the deceased was a mad man. He said the corpse has been evacuated to curb a possible outbreak of cholera and other related infections. 
Numan further revealed that autopsy would be carried out on the victim, before handing the corpse over to the family. He added that although the deceased had been buried according to Islamic rites, investigation into the murder had started to bring the perpetuators to book.
It would be recalled that on 27 August, 2014, forty people were reportedly killed in Nasarawa State following a renewed crisis between Eggon ethnicity and Fulani herdsmen.
Meanwhile, Nasarawa state has been in the news for weeks over the impeachment move embarked upon by PDP led members of the state House of Assembly.
