Police Arrest 2 Men For Illegal Possession Of Fire Arms

                      Two men, Abdulkarim Usman and Aliyu Shuaib, were on Thursday arraigned before a Gusau Magistrates Court in Zamfara over alleged illegal possession of fire arms and belonging to a criminal gang.
                      The prosecutor, Insp. Yakubu Abuga, told the court that the two were arrested by a police patrol team led by Insp. Nasir Garba, on March 3 along Kaura Namoda road in Gusau.
Abuga told the court that the two accused persons were members of a criminal gang terrorising the state for sometimes.
                       He said a rifle with live ammunitions, plier and hammer for house breaking, rubber solution and Indian hemp were found in the accused persons’ room.

The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Section 3 of the Robbery and Fire arms Act and Section 305 of the Penal Code.

The accused persons, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Alhaji Umar Abdulnasir, ordered the accused to be remanded in prison custody and adjourned the case till April 22, for mention. (NAN)
