Man Commits Suicide In Bauchi (See)

A Civil servant from Dass Local Government Area of Bauchi State in his late 20s, identified as Daniel Haruna following Depressed and unable to kick his alcoholic addiction, committed suicide.

Reports have it that Haruna drank a poisonous chemicalsubstance known as Gamalin 20, used to kill rodents, on Sunday, July 19.
According to family members, Haruna had been battling with alcoholism and found it impossible to drop the habit, a development that put him in constant need of money.

Another family member said that the deceased lived with his younger brother, Musa, and it was the brother who raised the alarm early that morning when he was woken from sleep by sounds of groaning and that when he saw his brother writhing in pains and vomiting, he thought he was drunk as usual and went to look for milk to stop the vomiting.

But since it was so late at night and the shops were all closed, Musa could not get milk to buy and, therefore, went to sleep and woke up the next morning to see his brother still in pain.

Daniel was said to have told his younger brother to call some family members that he actually took poison to kill himself.

When the relatives gathered, he asked them to forgive him for whatever wrong he might have done them. He was rushed to General Hospital, Dass, where he gave up the ghost.
